Hello friend! Welcome to my blog!

I created this website to chronicle the adventures I have as a project manager in the big world of  business as well as publish my personal musings about the digital and creative landscapes. If you find yourself interested in pretty things, new technology, and all things quirky; then grab a cup of coffee, check out the blog and laugh at, comment on, or share my thoughts.

A little background:

Just so you know, my real name is Sheena Rajan. I go by Sheena Dangers on the internet because it makes me giggle. (I hope it makes you giggle too)

The first thing you’ll notice about me is that I whistle while I work.  Rarely do I wake up on the wrong side of the bed and if I do, I still manage to find a way to smile. Call me chipper, cheery, or chummy; I like to smile and enjoy making others smile.

I’m known for being obsessively organized, a trait passed down from my father. I grew up hearing the mantra “A place for everything and everything in its place”. Organization is in my blood; a handy skill to have when it comes to project management.

I’ve had the pleasure of working with a diverse set of characters, from straight to the point authoritative figures to quirky, artistic individuals. Not always an easy task, since everyone has a great idea but can sometimes be clumsy in delivering their thoughts. As a result, I’ve evolved into a bit of an interpreter; able to deliver information and directions clearly to different people, without fuss. In my profession this skill has become a great asset; I constantly find myself being a liaison between the client, creatives and management.

Oh and by the way, did I mention I’m tiny? I’m 4′ 10″ and proud of it!

What I really love:

Learn, learn, learn! Is it possible to know everything? Um, no! But I still strive to keep an open mind to new information and ideas. My favorite things to soak up: recipes, latest health crazes, conspiracy theories, future alien invasions and new technology.

Storytelling. Nothing beats sharing narratives with friends. Beyond that, I love paying attention to storytelling styles. The choice of words, gestures and tones folks use  are sometimes more entertaining than the story itself.

It may sound like fluff, but I find the most joy in my work when I’m supporting my team by keeping them organized, on track and most importantly inspired. Being the backbone to a talented group of people and watching them succeed and grow is what I absolutely love. I feel most successful when my teammates are using all of their talents (whether they are aware of those talents or not). I enjoy giving little pep talks, being the team’s cheerleader and elevating the unique talents of each teammate.

What I do:

You could say that life has naturally led me into the project management profession. Over the past 10 years I was steadily given additional responsibilities and promoted to management positions. This experience has been pivotal in steering my career by illustrating that I have a natural ability to lead and manage. To further enhance my skill set, I recently passed the Project Management Professional (PMP) exam, administered by the Project Management Institute (PMI).

I’ve had extensive experience managing full lifecycle digital projects spanning from one month to a year; types of projects range from consumer websites to B2B applications. At any given time, you could find me leading Creatives, Information Architects, Developers, Copywriters and Strategists; keeping the client’s business needs at the forefront of the team’s focus. Over the 5 years managing web projects, I’ve developed a deep understanding of interactive processes and protocols, as well as a general knowledge of HTML/CSS and Photoshop.

Now that you know a little about me, go ahead and drop me a line. I’d love to hear from you!
